Kaleb competed in his second Tulsa Shootout at the Qwik Trip Center in Tulsa, OK. over the New Year's weekend. On Friday he won both of his Flathead heat races and finished 4th in the Jr. Animal heat race. The go-kart features were run early Saturday morning as Kaleb started third in the Jr. 2 Light 15 lap feature. He jumped out to the early lead for 2 laps and then faded to 4th at the finish as we went too soft on the tires. He lined up 8th for the Animal feature and was working his way to the front when several karts spun in front of him and he slowed to avoid hitting them and fell to the back of the pack. Kaleb ended up 12th and felt he had a really good kart in that race. Kaleb earned the pole position for the Jr. 2 Heavy feature as he jumped out to the early lead. He maintained a 3-4 length lead over Zach Hockemeier for the first 12 laps and then Kaleb ran up on a lapped kart and it slowed him just enough to allow Hockemeier to take the lead. Kaleb ended up second and was very disappointed as he felt he let that one slip away. Congrats to Hockemeier on the win!!
