Kaleb Johnson Ends World of Outlaws Weekend at Knoxville Raceway on Positive Note

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 21, 2025) – Kaleb Johnson produced a strong finish to the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series race at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.
The Team DGRD driver qualified 13th quickest in his group to open the evening.
“We qualified pretty decent,” he said. “We started seventh in the heat race and I’ll be honest, we got screwed. The car that started 10th was already next to me when we went green. He made contact with my right front and I was pointed toward the infield at one point. I kept the car underneath me, but I lost a lot of ground and couldn’t recover. That put us starting pretty deep in the Last Chance Showdown.”
A ninth-place result in the heat race relegated Johnson to the back of the Last Chance Showdown. Johnson hustled from 16th to ninth, which was the second-most positions gained, during the race.
“We had a really good race car and made our way through as best as we could,” he said. “I was able to stick the bottom really nice when a lot of guys weren’t. I took advantage and there were times I could use the top when I needed as well. We had a really good car that was maneuverable.”
It was the only race of the weekend as Friday’s opener was rained out.
Johnson is planning to race with the World of Outlaws this Friday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., during the Hy-Vee Perks 40. He will return to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.
